Samba de Gafieira, originally from Rio de Janeiro, is the couples version of the world-renowned Brasilian Samba dance. Dynamic and playful, samba de gafieira uniquely accompanies all the other samba styles and rhythms (ie. pagode, bossa nova, chorinho, etc.)
Forro, originally from the northeast of Brasil, has become very popular in the US. The music uniquely combines such instruments asthe safona (small accordion), triangle and zambumba (bass drum). The most common rhythms for forro are called baiao xote and coco.
